Marilynn “Lynn” Alice Mast Long, a native of Flossmoor, Illinois, is the daughter of Maurene June Frey and Casper Leo Mast, Jr. Maurene’s father was a 32nd degree Mason and also a Commander of the Englewood Commandery in Chicago. Lynn is married to Melvin Dwight Long, has three children, Jonathan, Laura, Richard, with grandchildren Alyssa, Melanie and Ryan living near them.
Mrs. Long attended Denison University for two years and graduated from the University of Kentucky with an A. B. degree in Education. While teaching in the elementary grades in the Homewood School District, she started graduate work at the University of Illinois where she met Mel. When Mel started a new job and they relocated, she retired from teaching. After two more moves they settled in McHenry County, IL where they have been for forty-five years.
