Jane Elizabeth Routt Power, a native of Fort Worth, Texas, is the daughter of Robert Ralph and Maurine Scott Routt. She was married to the late John Michael Power, and has four stepsons: Michael, Stephen, Barry and Jason Power, as well as nine (9) grandchildren and four (4) great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Power received her B.S. in Education, History and English, North Texas State University. During her career she was the Director of Human Resources at Garrett Electronics, Inc. dba Garrett Metal Detectors. Garrett is a world-wide company manufacturing security and hobby metal detectors. Additionally, Mrs. Power has been the president/owner of J&J Power Communications for over twenty-five (25) years; a woman/minority-owned certified advertising specialties, promotion and marketing company.

Mrs. Power’s avocations include researching and enjoying history and genealogy for over thirty-five years. She is a professional genealogy lecturer and teacher, as well as a frequent guest on “The Family History Show” hosted by Michael Matthews aired on the Texas State Radio Network.
Additionally, Mrs. Power is Past President of the Garland Genealogical Society; a Fellow of Scottish Antiquaries; as well as a member of the National Gavel Society, P.E.O., the Honorable Order of Kentucky Colonels, a Yellow Rose of Texas, and an Arkansas Traveler. She holds professional membership in the National Association of Parliamentarians, and the Texas Association of Parliamentarians.
