John Mauk Hilliard, the son of Jane Mauk Hilliard and the late John Kent Hilliard, was born in Clovis, NM. He graduated magna cum laude from Eastern New Mexico University, where he received a B.A. in English Literature and History and an M.A. in American. He completed further graduate studies at New York University. Mr. Hilliard was a member of the faculty, and an administrator, at Lehman College of the City University of New York for over thirty years. Mr. Hilliard is presently the Director of Recruitment and Higher Education Officer at Lehman College.
